Exterior - BFI London IMAX Cinema

DHA Designs were appointed to design the exterior lighting for Europe's flagship IMAX cinema in the heart of London, designed by Avery Associates for the British Film Institute.

DHA Designs were required to accentuate the night-time appearance of the building and to illuminate a 15m high graphic which wraps around the drum wall of the building behind the curtain wall glazing. Each of the forty columns supporting the glass wall is uplit using a surface mounted spotlight at the column base. A linear fluorescent and lighting track system runs the full height of each column. This illuminates both the large graphic and picks out architectural features using spotlights mounted to the linear track
